  • Do you threaten to leave the addict if they don't stop using alcohol or drugs?

  • Does it seem like all problems would be solved if the addict stopped drinking or using drugs?

  • Are you searching for hidden bags, envelopes, razor blades, pipes, or similar items?

  • Have you considered contacting "dealers," authorities, or others to prevent continued abuse?
  • Does it seem like if the addict really loved you, they would stop using drugs because you asked them to?

  • Do you lie to cover up the addict's abuse?

  • Are you afraid to bring up certain things for fear that the addict will use more drugs, blame you, or hurt you?

  • Do you feel confused about how to handle situations related to drug abuse or the addict's behavior?

  • Do you hope that every time you see or hear something about the addict's drug use, it will be the last time?

  • Does the addict make seemingly sincere promises that are never kept?
